The First Snowstorm!

Winter is a more difficult time to train!  It's dark later in the morning, and gets dark early!  Some ideas to help-
  • 'Invest' in warm workout gear.  Doesn't have to be expensive- I've picked up items at the DI- I just like having a specific coat, gloves, hat etc that is designated to workout in.
  • Get a training buddy!  This will make it safer to run or walk in those darker hours.  I loved the winter my sister ran with me in the mornings- we were able to get up and get it done early! Remember to wear reflective gear and/or carry a light!  Pretend the cars are out to get you!
  • Find indoor options- a workout DVD, the gym,  a treadmill or stationary bike, the Olympic Ice Oval (has a great track- $2.00 cost- and in the mornings you can watch the Olympic Speed Skating Teams practice as you run circles around them!)
  • The cold is great to workout in if you are prepared for it!
Any other ideas??? Please share!
